My cat is a lazy butt. He plays, but not much. He gets bored of his favorite toy after 3-4 minutes. I tried about 15 different toys, and nothing worked, except the one basic toy (a wand with a piece of string attached to it).
I just got this laser toy, and oh boy, what a change from previous toys! I had never tried to play with a laser, and goes completely bonkers for it.
Where I think the fact that its automatic adds tremendous value is the way I've been using it. My morning routine is as follows: I wake up, shower, make myself an espresso, and then feed my cat the 1st of two servings (I do that because otherwise he tends to throw up). I usually play 2-3 minutes with him before each servings. What I've been doing now is about 5 minutes before each serving, I turn on the laser, and he goes completely crazy for it. Combination of really enjoying this toy, and his hunting instinct kicking in. I make sure to turn the laser to manual mode at the end, and point the laser towards his food, to give him a sense of "reward", so that he doesn't get too frustrated with being unable to catch the laser "prey".
A bit pricey, but a fantastic toy. I highly recommend it.
