Leaving a cat behind.

Very conflicted. Graduating college soon and moving a thousand miles away in a few days. Have a wonderful cat that I've had since she was very young. It's just been me and her in a big three bedroom. I don't feel like it's fair to her to take her on a 20 hour car ride to an unfamiliar, and much smaller home. I also will be working most of the day and have no other pets. I love her dearly and can't stand the thought of her missing me. She did get out a few days ago and was MIA for three days but came back like nothing had happened, so I could see her being fine with me not being around. My main issue is that regardless of what happens she'll have to move homes, either to my parents place, who have a large home but also a dog (who is getting quite old and is towards the end of her days, so chasing wouldn't be an issue), or my good friends place who lives in a small apartment and is gone a lot, but he has a cat and a dog (also old and near the end) so I think she'd like the company, I just worry she'll feel cramped moving from such a large place into a small place with other animals. I'm at a loss. It's not fair to move her 20 hours away by car, but I love her so much and want her to be as happy as possible. What do I do? Please don't think I'm a bad pet owner but a large part of me would like a fresh start without the responsibility of a pet, and even now I should be playing with her a lot more. I do love her to pieces though. Of the three options, what would you do?

Tl;dr Moving 1,000 miles away and thinking I should leave my cat with my parents or my friend. Thoughts?
