Hello all, I currently will be moving in with my boyfriend in a month or so when my lease ends. I have one cat and my boyfriend has two dogs. I’m not concern about the cat and dogs getting along. But that my boyfriend has a dog door that he sets up between the sliding glass door during the day while he is at work so the dogs can go in and out. when he gets home at night he takes the dog door down at night. I’m trying to think of the best solution for my cat. Right now all I can think of is to keep the cat in a bedroom while we are at work all day and when we are home at night and take down the dog door we can let the cat out roam the house during the night. But I will have to lock him back up in the bedroom during the day while we are at work over fear of him going out the dog door and getting out.
I was wondering if anyone has any better ideas? As I don’t want to lock my cat up in a bedroom all day if I don’t have to. There is a basement that’s really big and furnished. But no windows for him to look out of that most cats enjoy doing on their free time. Any suggestions or ideas?
