My cat is around 8 years old, he's a grumpy old Turkish Van. My family has had him since he was 9 months old. He was up for adoption because he was violent and would attack dogs. We got him when I was pretty young, so when he's scratch me i'd be upset. Because of this he grew to never really be attached to anyone in my house but he clearly felt comfortable and loved enough as he would chill with us and come to get pets once in a while. I am not his primary food giver or anything, that is my father, but I do occasionally give him treats.
About 6 months ago things changed, we had a dog. We had her already for a few months but out of no where My cat starts wanting into my room. He comes in, and just lays with me in bed. This was not too odd, but soon this became a regular thing. Now he comes and straight up wants to cuddle like he is a person. He wants me to lay down with him. Basically spoon him while he holds my arm and sleep, gives it kisses, and occasionally nuzzles my cheeks. And he will stay there for hours until I scoop him up and take him out of my room. Sometimes if I try to leave he bites me.
I don't know why my cat suddenly is obsessed and loves me but he is basically always with me. And has attacked our dog out of what seemed to be jealousy.
I don't know why this is happening, I am not complaining but also kinda an since he is borderline obsessive.
(Funny thing! I often have animals who obsess over me! I think I must have some trait that makes them love me. I'll probably make a post about that)
