So, back in November my amazing partner got me a beautiful kitten. I have wanted a cat for close to 6 years, after my last one passed. She is the most beautiful, loving, savage being ever and I cant imagine life without her.
We unfortunately got her at quite a young age, we were told she was 6 weeks but we believe her to have been 4 weeks. She was part of a litter from a farm cat and the farmer had threatened to drown the kittens as he didnt want anymore cats on the farm. We took the 3 kittens and they were rehomed with one (poppy) staying with us.
She has had all of her jabs, and was due to be nurtured and have her chip done just after lockdown happened here in England. She is an indoor cat with plenty of toys and brain teasers and we play with her multiple times a day, while also taking her for a 'walk' around the garden.
My main concern is her showing signs she is in heat about once every 2 weeks, although it has been about 3 weeks since it has last happened and yet it started up again a couple of days ago. She is crying the usual low cry along with the normal cry, showing her butt to us, and wanting lots of love. She is also rubbing herself on anything possible and from what I have researched this is her marking(?) And seems restless. Otherwise she is completely fine, eating and drinking fine, going to the toilet like usual etc.
Is this normal for a cat to show signs of being on heat so much? Is this how it usually happens when they are first in heat? Or should we be talking to a vet about this? Any help welcome.
TL:DR - kitten about 6 months old showing signs she is in heat multiple times with about 2 weeks inbetween. Everything else seems fine, jabs are up to date. Is this normal?
