New kitten was active but suddenly sneezing, drooling and lethargic

I recently adopted a new kitten (3 months old) and I've had him for about a week. He was very energetic but timid for the first few days we had him, but around 2 says ago he started sneezing and sleeping for most of the day. Symptoms gradually got worse and he began sneezing more, drooling and has a weepy eye (clear discharge)

He was still eating but recently he is not eating or drinking. He began to sleep in his litterbox. Initially I thought it could be cat flu, as he had been diagnosed in the past with it before but I took him to the vet today and they said it most likely wasnt cat flu and said it could be something irritating him. But I havent changed anything at home, I've kept his area clean and clean all of his bowls and litter box daily. We got home and he began to drool excessively and retreated to his litterbox to sleep.

He sleeps with his mouth open and has drool. The vet said his nasal pathways were clear and that he had no fever. I'm just worried about what could be causing this. Should I leave him to just rest and recover or should I take him to another vet? I cleaned his area again today and made sure to not use any cleaning products that could irritate him. Is he stressed about being in a new environment?

Just looking for any one who has had something similar as I am extremely worried for him as I dont want to constantly stress him out by trying to check up on him.
