Newly adopted kitten has fleas
Hi! Three days ago I adopted a kitten (Ragdoll) and brought him home. The previous owner lived on a farm, and had a ton of different animals, but I didn’t think anything of it and brought him home. He was sleeping in my bed and climbing on furniture.
I took him to the vet and they told me he had fleas. I never saw them because his fur is so long, but the vet gave him Revolution Plus. When I got home, I checked my bedding and didn’t see any fleas but I saw flea dirt, so I washed them. I now am seeing fleas all over my cat, when they come to the surface they are mostly dead/dying.
I vacuumed my entire apartment and told the leasing office to have an exterminator come in (which probably won’t happen until next week). What else should I do? The cat got on my bed last night and I woke up to a few fleas on my bed so I washed everything again. Is there anything else I need to do to prevent a flea infestation? I haven’t quarantined my cat because I really have no where I can and I don’t wanna do that. Any advice is much appreciated!
