I’m having some issues with our new puppy who’s 6 months old. My boyfriend got her without telling me and I wasn’t too happy with it. This happened during moving into our new apartment. I like dogs, but I didn’t want one of my own yet. In the past we discussed adopting an older dog who’s trained and housebroken but made it clear that wouldn’t be any time soon. I’m trying to give her chances but I’m getting so frustrated. She barks all day, and since I’m working from home right now it distracts me. Whenever my boyfriend leaves she whines. It makes me anxious to be on my own with her or have guests over because if my boyfriend isn’t here she won’t listen to me. Today I thought I’d take her to the dog park but she broke free of the leash before I even got her in the car. So my boyfriend had to come home and help me lure her back inside and I didn’t end up taking her to the park. I feel like an asshole but I’m just not bonding with her :/ I don’t want this to be an ongoing problem. Any opinions?
