i am so so stressed out and the fact that im getting a surgery myself on thursday doesnt make this any better :( sorry if i ramble... about 2 months ago my cat ate a lily petal and it cost me 2k. yesterday, i noticed my other cat (3 y/o DSH spayed female) going to the litter box around every 30 mins, sometimes more frequent, and barely doing anything in there but squatting as if shes attempting. i also noticed her drinking a bit (nothing crazy) more water. so all signs are pointing to UTI. i have some left over amoxicillin (not expired) from when she had a tooth issue. will it hurt her to give her some of it? i would obviously much rather go to the vet but given that i just spent all that money on my other cat things are kinda tight :( shes playing and eating normally, if i didnt notice her litter box behavior then i wouldnt think anything is wrong. i also obviously don't want to prolong anything and make it a bigger issue than it is by not taking her so any advice is very appreciated <3 i am currently looking into insurance for both of them. i also went to petco today and bought HomeoPet Feline Urinary Tract Infection Supplement, uti wet food and uti treats.
also, ive read online of cats getting blocked by uti's and dying quick. at what point does this happen? if this was going to happen to my cat, would she be lethargic or acting like something is wrong?
