I was talking in a group chat to some friends and it came up that one girl gets her dog her own McNuggets meal every time they go to McDonald’s. She said she also feeds her lots of ice cream and all of her table scraps. I told her she might want to be careful because there are some human foods that will 100% poison her dog or she might develop a disease like pancreatitis etc. she got defensive and said she treats her dog better than anyone, and then another girl jumped in and said that she fed her dog human food for 14 years and it was fine, and that human food and dog food have the same meat in them.
I don’t know how true that is but i just said well I would just be careful. I didn’t say this, but I know for a fact that foods like macadamia nuts, grapes, raisins, avocado, xylitol (which is included in some ice cream) etc. are extremely poisonous to dogs. she just sent the thumbs up emoji. I mean, I wouldn’t want to accidentally poison my dog but that’s just me, and I would want someone to tell me if I was ignorant to that. But regardless of what I would want, did I overstep a line here?
