I need advice. Our cat is a nice but has been getting harder and harder to get along with as an indoor only cat. He was always an indoor/outdoor cat, but after a nasty fight (and vet bill) a couple years ago and losing another cat to the road, we became an indoor only cat household.
He hasn't taken that very well and has gotten worse and worse about going to the bathroom where he's not supposed to. After many vet visits and changing his diet and more litter boxes and cleaning them every day, I feel like we've tried everything. We even tried sending him to a friend's to be outside for the summer but after another health scare this week I realized I can't risk something bad happening to him outside again, and so he's coming back inside at our house.
I'm dreading having to clean up after him all over the house every day again. I want him to have a loving family and at this point he's caused so much stress and damage that I'm having a hard time being patient, let alone affectionate, and I think he deserves more than that. I'm also worried about bringing him to the humane society or trying to find a home for him, because who is to say someone else will care for him? I just don't know what to do.
