New kitten doesn't want to sleep outside of the bedroom. We're having a baby in 6 months who will sleep there as well. Sleeping arrangements advice needed

Me and my wife got our first kitten two days ago. She's 14 weeks old, exotic shorthair female cat (and absolutely adorable :p).

On the first day we didn't allow her to enter our bedroom when she was exploring the house, because my wife is also 3 months pregnant and when the baby comes he/she will sleep in this room. And I wasn't sure if it's a good idea to let the cat get used to sleeping in same room where the crib of the baby will be (is it safe?).

At bedtime of the first night when we tried to close the bedroom door and leave the kitten outside to her area with water and food and toys and the cat toilet she immediately started meowing (she's very quiet otherwise so far so clearly not happy with being left out on her first night in a new place). I wasn't totally sure what the best way is so I let her explore the bedroom to see there's nothing very interesting and then tried to take her out of the bedroom again and close the door. Again she immediately started meowing and seemed scared so we just let her sleep in the bedroom which she seemed really happy with.

Honestly I think she was just scared, she seemed to get scared of all the new sounds and machines and the new enviroment in general especially on the first day.

In 6 months when the baby arrives, should the cat stop sleeping in the bedroom where the baby's crib will be (safety concerns)? And if yes, how and when to teach the cat to sleeping inside the bedroom? We are moving to a new house in two months if that matters. Thanks! :)
