Advice regarding price estimate I received for my kitten’s spay surgery (basically, am I being overcharged?)

My kitten Nyx just turned 5 months and as expected, my vet recommended getting her spayed within the next few weeks. The practice that I visit provided me an estimate of the surgery and after seeing the low/high subtotals - I am wondering if I’m being overcharged?? The low estimate says $590.10 with the high estimate being $640.10 (due to the inclusion of a $50 AVID microchip). I have never had a cat before but my roommate has had a few cats before and when I showed her the estimate she was very surprised. I’ve asked a few other people I know who are cat owners what their surgeries cost, and they’ve given me prices way lower than what my vet has given. I can provide a photo of the estimate that shows the total breakdown of the cost if it would be helpful. Also those totals include a 10% ‘first SX discount’. I also do wanna say that apart from this estimate my vet has not been that ‘pricey’ in terms of other things like initial exam and vaccines/boosters. I also do enjoy their practice and do feel like they’ve done a great job so far and have been very helpful and informative and are very good with Nyx so I’m hesitant to take her to another vet but $600 for a spay surgery just seems like a lot.
