Sudden TV Attacks
We adopted a 2yr old Manx approximately 3 months ago. He was a rescue and was desexed approx 2 weeks prior to adoption.
He has developed (in the last 3-5 days) a habit of jumping up and swatting the tv and tonight he jumped up and nearly pulled it over.
We have tried: saying NO, redirection to a toy, double sided tape, foil, mint/citrus smells and cat deterrent spray (we got this for him getting on benches and had zero effect). He has cat towers/scratch posts, shelves (cat Highway), regular and interactive toys (a lot of different ones so he can pick what he likes).
He is moderately energetic and so we play with him several times a day to ensure he sleeps through the night, so energy is not an issue and he has plenty of food/water, clean litter.
He has a habit of just continually repeating bad behaviour (we have found the best response is when we ignore him and remove ourselves from the situation aka behaviour elicits no response) and unfortunately we are unable to wall mount the tv, so just ignoring him is not an option.
