My family and I have 4 cats at the moment. The eldest one was having some bladder issues for a while and during that time his favorite place to pee happened to be my mattress. Went to a vet however and got that all rectified, and the cat stopped peeing all over the house. Problem solved. Or so I thought
Turns out, if I ever leave the door open to my bedroom (for even five minutes) a cat will come in and piss all over the sheets. It's not just the eldest cat, but the second eldest and our new 5 month old cat as well. They will not piss anywhere else in the house. If my door is closed literally 24/7 then they are completely content with using the litterbox, and we'll never find puddles or stains anywhere else
And as much as I'd love to keep the door closed (since it's not that big of a deal) our newest cat will pretty much only sleep in my room, where he will then literally pee on the sheets as I'm sleeping, even with the door open and the litterbox only 20 feet away
Can anyone tell me why my cats do this, and how to stop them?? It's becoming exhausting to clean my sheets and wash the stains out 3+ times a week
