I’m looking for help over here to see if anyone knows what Can I do.
I have a tiny Maltese dog, she’s around 10 months old and I’ve had her since month 2, and I also have 2 other cats.
Ever since my dog came in she’s been fascinated with going through the litter box and taking out cat poop. At first we thought it was funny and never really made a huge deal about it until she started eating them when she was around 4-5 months old. We took her to the vet and they told us it was completely normal since she was growing and developing and that was okay for her to be interested in eating/playing with weird stuff, they also told me she should outgrow it but if it kept happening that I should just make her understand it was not good.
We did as instructed and she eventually quit doing it for about a couple of months. She would sometimes take out poop and play with it but we would tell her no and she obeyed.
But Now it’s gotten to the point where she does it only in the middle of the night when no one’s watching her. She’s usually with me all day since I’m working from home so she sticks around and sleeps with me and stuff so I’m always watching out for her but when she’s alone she just doesn’t care about her plate being full, she only cares about going for a midnight poop snack. We started to notice cause there was litter sand all around the stairs and living area.
Could someone tell me what to do on this one? We don’t really want to move the box cause my cats are really used to doing their business where is at but my dog is just not understanding
