My cat is about one year old and from what I know, has been living outdoors up until the day we got her from a family friend. We're unsure of her age but our vet informed us that she's around 6 months old in January. Obviously she needed some time to adjust to living indoors and we've tried all that we can to get her to relax while indoors but she just won't.
She has an enclosed outdoor area that is connected to our house so she can be familiar with the outdoors but not enough for stray cats to mingle with her. She will meow to come in and when we do let her inside, she will yowl and run and cause havoc in the house (ears back, zoomies constantly). This has been going on since the day we got her and we have no idea what to do. We have also neutered her because we thought this would help with the yowling (we learned that it didn't).
It makes us sad to keep her in the enclosed area because she wants to stay inside but she runs and freaks out when indoors. What can I do? Here's a photo of the gal in question.
