I just rescued a stray kitten who is about 8 weeks old. With him I brought fleas into my apartment. My apartment is mostly vinyl and tile flooring, with one area rug. I've been vacuuming the carpet, my couch and my bed everyday, I bagged up all of my throw pillows, blankets and cat bed, I've been spraying my rug, bed and couch with a peppermint spray that says it kills fleas on contact, and I gave the kitten a bath with dawn and I've been combing him with a flea comb twice daily. I would use a stronger flea bath or use some other sort of flea killing product on the kitten, but he is way too young to have such harsh chemicals applied to him. It's only been two days, and I realize that It probably takes a while to completely get rid of the fleas. Am I doing everything right? Is there anything else I could be doing to get rid of them faster? Should I be vacuuming my hard floors daily the way that I am with my are rug?
