My ex boyfriend owns my cat, he bought and purchased our cat. But he is abusing my cat and once my ex moves out I want my cat to be mine OFFICIALLY. HELP.

My ex boyfriend of almost 3 years are still living together but in the last few months has gotten worse with the “discipline ” of my cat. Of the time we have had the cat I’ve helped out with food, treats, litter, toys, love, and more. I’ve always cleaned the litter box like clean*** it. So my cat can be easily startled and he will his at my ex for bringing him his food sometimes. And my ex with take my cat by his scruff and grab him and spray him with water is his face, pop him in the face. And this will of course scare my cat, frighten him. So he puts him in the kennel afterwards. (That’s if my cat didn’t get so scared by the whopping he shit himself) So my cats been in the kennel( I work three jobs, busy busy, and my ex is a stay at home student. Just setting the perspective) and wasn’t taken out in time to use the litter. So my cat has now been sitting in his own piss and shit and covered in it. My ex grabs the cat out of the kennel, let’s the liquids drip everywhere into the bathroom and then puts him in the bathtub to bath him. I’m taking care the shit fillled kennel and I’m hearing a commotion in the bathroom. And hearing my name called so I go in for help and my ex has blood on his face from a scratch from my cat and blood Alli over his hands from scratches bc I’m sure my cat was scared. So I help him stop the bleeding of course and get my baby boy out of bath tub and dry him off to calm him. I put him in my room. Then go to finish cleaning the nasty stuffs. And look at my cat later On and realizes that my cat is missing half of one of his feline tooth. It’s chipped in half. Maybe is 75% of one of the four feline teeth is chipped. And I’m 100% sure it happened when I was hearing the commotion in the bathroom. Even if my cat was trying to get away and it happened I know it’s not okay. I need help. My cat needs my help. And your help to figure out how I can officially make him my cat in my name. I will fight legally if needed. Someone please tell me something I can do.
