Hello I hope I can get a straight answer on why this happens to my dog. Background on him he is a 6 year old golden retriever. When he was was around 6 months he drank out of a toilet in my parents house that had chemicals in it. That is really when all this started. The night he drank out of the toilet I literally thought he was dying. He would not keep water or food down. That is when my dad (we know this isn’t a smart thing) but he used a turkey Baster to get water in him so we could get him to an emergency vet. Once we were there they told us he had pneumonia...? He stayed the night and got fluids in him which resulted with him being ok in the morning.... since that incident happened he was never able to drink water without completely spitting up half of it.. Either the chemicals from the toilet caused this or the turkey baster widening his throat. I’m not sure. Fast forward two years and he was swimming in a pool all day that involved toys and him intaking a lot of air. His stomach completely inflated and he was completely round. He kept trying to throw up nothing for about 30 minutes when he finally took him to an emergency vet which they told us he had a twisted gut (can’t think of the actual term) I think it might of been bloat. They were getting ready to open him up and untwist his insides when they magically realized that wasn’t it and decided to have him stay the night and put fluids in him. Next morning he was perfect. Same dog and didn’t seem like he had any problems.
But here we are again with his stomach completely bloated from air intake from when he drinks water. He is trying to throw up air and he is so hot. I just can’t take him to the emergency vet for the third time and pay that overnight bill again. Does anyone have any clue what is going on? Please someone help
