Hi all. I have a one year old cat I adopted from the shelter. I noticed that she scratches my arm and bites me when I sit on the couch sometimes. It's always right after our long play session and her eating dinner. While she was eating, I sat on the couch. She came out to the living room, jumped on the couch, laid down, and then put both clawed paws on my arm and bit me. I screamed and walked away for a little, then she went to sleep.
Is she being territorial about the couch? I have a window cat ned and a tower right next to the couch, but she likes to sleep on the couch at night. Will installing some perch shelves above the couch help? I'd like to sit on my large couch without being bitten :(.
TLDR: Cat bites me before sleeping on the couch.
