I have been feeding this kitten for 2 to almost 3 months now. He used to have 2 others who came by to eat food with him but I think the neighbors caught them and brought them to a shelter. Lately however there has been a raccoon that comes by and eats all the food and dumps over the bowl of water. I've tried approaching the cat in many different ways but he's still scared of me and runs away when I get too close (Even though he watches me fill his food and water, how ungrateful :( ).
I don't want the raccoon and the cat to meet, I'm scared the raccoon might hurt the little guy. I'm not sure what to do to stop the raccoon from coming back. My first thought was to get a trap but I'm scared that the cat might walk into the trap and then the raccoon could get a hold of him.
