I recently tried to transition my kitten off of the food he's used to. He's doing perfectly fine on it in regards to bowel movement, but wanted to get him something with easier shopping access. Last night I gave him a quarter can of his usual and half a quarter of the new food. Later that night he had a big sticky doodie on his fur that thankfully I was able to pull off but it took me an hour and oh so many treats to clean off, and not even completely. I'm just glad I caught him with it right after he went in his box.
This morning I bravely ventured again but this time with only a teaspoon's worth and it happened again! Albeit less intense (a poopie spot on his behind). I get that cats have a sensitive stomach, but he's just clearly having problems I'm wondering whether to push through this poopy time or he's clearly just not gonna do well on the new food. Don't fix what ain't broke, right? :/
