My kitten is 13 weeks old and she’s really, really picky about what toys she likes to play with. I read online about Da Bird toy, and everyone said that their cat loves it, but one review warned that her cat swallowed a pice of the toy and had to get surgery. I was playing with her tonight and she LOVES the toy, I think she thinks she’s hunting a real bird, but once she “caught” the bird I noticed she was trying to chew on the feathers and I heard a cracking noise so instinctively I wanted to take the toy from her so she didn’t swallow any pieces if it broke. Well. She went basically insane...like the craziest I’ve ever seen her. Her pupils filled up basically her whole eye, she was growling and trying to scratch at me when I tried to take it (which she has NEVER done before), and she had an iron grip on this toy with her jaw. Eventually we sprayed her with some water and got her to release her jaw, but it was quite a struggle. I scolded her and put her in my bedroom and left her alone for 10-15 minutes as punishment. Once I came back she was calm and acting like her normal self again. But I’m kind of concerned about her reaction. She’s the sweetest kitty in the world, has never showed any signs of aggression until now. Should I just not let her play with that toy any more? What should I do in the future if she acts that aggressive towards me again?
