For the past couple months, any time I’m lying in bed, my 16–year-old neutered cat will try to mount me. It took me way too long to figure out what he was doing, because in the 10 years I’ve had him, he’s never done this. He’ll bite onto my hand, straddle my arm and just go to town — if I let him, which I don’t, now that I know what he’s up to. It’s happening every day.
I’ve googled about it, wondering if it’s a concerning behavioral change indicating an illness or something, but I haven’t come up with anything. We haven’t recently moved, gotten a new pet, changed routines or anything else that might be traumatic for him.
Why is he doing this??
