Hello all. I have posted a few times about my recent rescue, you can see it in my history. She's with me for 2.5 months, she started out cuddly and social, but was sick a lot and has been to the vet very frequently. I finally got results for her lethargy issues - she's diabetic.
I only got the diagnosis on Friday. I have to give her a blood test and an insulin shot twice a day. I live alone so I have to swaddle her to do both proceedures. I also have to give her a pill 2x a day for giardia, serum I the nose 1x a day for a cold and ear cleaning for mites 2x a week. All of these together has caused her to become very distressed very quickly, and just in a few days she now cries when I go near her, hides all day, even cries when scuttling to the litter box and back. I've never seen her like this before, and I fear that our relationship is already soured. She is scared of me, especially since I'm not good at the insulin proceedures yet and it hurts. It's just the two of us, and its breaking my heart to see her so unhappy and scared of me after finally getting a loving forever home. She was so affectionate before. What can I do?
