Hey everyone,
So I've had a young cat (about 3 years old) and a dog (about 4) for about 3 years now. They've always gotten along pretty well once the adjustment period for the cat was passed.
We recently got a new kitten (9weeks) because he couldn't be kept by his owners. At first everything was great, the new kitten and cat were cuddling and very friendly, playing often, and seemed to get along really well. However, in the past few days, my old cat has gotten really fearful of my house. He's still fine with the kitten when they interact, but he won't move freely around the house anymore. We first noticed because he stopped sleeping on our bed (kitten sleeps with our roommate in a different bedroom). He stopped coming into the bedroom, then living room, then would hardly go anywhere. We've tried keeping the kitten in a separate room entirely for about 2 days, only letting him out under supervision to do his business and play a little and eat, but old cat doesn't seem to get much better.
Any advice? Thanks all
