Question about guinea pig and cat playing

My family recently adopted a very playful cat( around a month old). Before her we also had a guinea pig for around 5 years and their relationship seems fine for now except for when they are playing(I know cat is trying to play since there never is any blood when they do it and ive heard that if 2 animals are "fighting" and there's no blood spilled they're just playing) where my cat basically kind of jumps on my guinea pig(puts her arms on my guinea pigs arms, lays on his back with her stomach and kind of weakly bites him, sometimes doesnt) and he usually tries to run( to which she responds by giving chase) but some times when they do it my guinea pig is chattering his teeth and sometimes freezes in place before slipping out and running from her or sometimes makes a little bit of really quiet squeeling noises( I've heard that it means they are scared or in discomfort) and I want to ask anyone who knows better, is my guinea pig playing along on his own will and enjoying himself or is he scared, doesn't want to play and is in huge discomfort and I should actively try to distance them? Also I noticed that he's been going out of his cage(we leave it open so he can wander around the flat since he chews on the bars of his cage if we don't and it really doesn't hurt us to give him some freedom) a bit less but that could just be a result of him growing older(he's around 5 years and 3 months old)
