So my cat, Superman, recently had his feeding tube taken out following a month recovery from a nasty e.coli infection and his tube site becoming infected. Before the tube was taken out, he was eating a can and a half of vet perscribed food per day on his own, we gave him an extra half can thru the tube.
Now that the tube was taken out and his tube site infection is completely gone, he's barely eating anything.
The vet says not to worry as it can sometimes take a few days for the soreness from the tube being removed to go away, and he'll want to eat then. I'm sure his neck also doesn't feel great, and the antibiotics have to be hurting his stomach, yet I'm worried by his completed disinterest in food, to the point to where we cooked up half of a steak for him and he only eats a small piece or two at a time.
What would you recommend me and my mom do to help him?
