back story: room mate and I agreed to get an apartment together. I told him I plan on brining my cats and he was ok with it, telling me he wouldn't want to take away anything that made me happy.
Few months down the road, we buy a couch set. Cats love the material and started to claw it. Fixed the issue by buying those 'soft paw' nail tips.
However. My room mate hates it when the cats get on the couch. He complains that there is fur every where, poop and pee from their paws. Etc. Etc. (He used to own a dog, but he said you can train dogs to not get on the couch).
I bought some couch covers to help with the cat fur (I can't stop my cats from getting on the couch; especially my oldest baby who is 11 years old. She loves to sleep on a couch).
But he still complains. I clean the couch, the couch sheets, got rollers to pick up the cat fur, but nothing makes him happy.
I don't know what else to do. I love my cats because they are my babies. I've had them both since they were just kittens, so I'm their only momma they've ever known.
I just hate it when my room mate gets so upset, yet he wants to get a dog. I tried to make the argument that dogs are just as dirty as cats can be, but again, 'dogs won't get on the couch if you tell them not to.'
He also has kids, and you think kids are just as bad too 🙄
