[help] my pug has severe arthiritus and back pain - what can I do?
I have a 9 year old senior pug called Chaos who has had arthiritus in his back legs for a year now.
He was prescribed metacam which helped somewhat but yesterday he started hyperventilating, wouldn’t eat, was shivering, distant from us, and couldn’t lie down due to discomfort and pain.
He also for several months has been unable to control his bowels but yesterday he started to drink lots of water and has had uncontrollable urination.
We immediantly took him to the vet, however the vet prescribed medication called Gabapentin, clavaseptin, and tralieve and ran some blood tests.
We were concerned about his kidneys but the test came back clear.
However yesterday he was diagnosed with a very high temperature, today we took him back to the vet and it was stable.
What should we do to comfort and help him, and has anyone else had an experience similar to this?
