Would like a little help on what to expect from these newborn kittens please n thank you

they're a little over 2 weeks old now and their mom is still there for them so there isn't too much to worry about. however, my main concern is potty training. i understand that the mom will do most of the work but the nest she chose for her babies i feel isn't ideal for us if they end up making a mess there so.. two questions; when will the kittens start following mother out the nest to be taught? and, when she starts teaching them, will they start to pee n poop in places that aren't the litter? i expect the latter to be yes tbh but I'd like some hope lol
