My cat has suddenly started pooping out a gel like substance and seems as distraught about it as I am. He’s about 3 years old with no major medical issues but he’s been known to cry wolf when he’s being fussy about something. He also as a general loss of appetite and isn’t as energetic.
Recently he gave himself a UTI that took several weeks and my entire wallet to clear up because he didn’t like the new cat litter I was trying. Prior to that he didn’t move or eat for a couple days and developed a fever because he got fleas and was unhappy.
I’ve looked it up and it could be from a bunch of things, parasites, pancreatitis, liver problems, diet change, etc. etc. but one of the commonly listed causes is “stress”. We live in LA and it has been raining relatively heavily for about two weeks now, something my cat has never experienced. Due to his track record, I’m sure he’s being fussy again.
There has been no dietary change or anything else of note. Sometimes the poop will be accompanied by greenish diarrhea.
I suppose my question is is it likely something worse, or is my cat just being a drama queen again?
