I adopted my cat, Chance, around 2 years ago in the summer. He is a friendly cat, very extroverted and would always sleep in my downstairs room. and recently I’ve been caring for my brothers kitten while he moves to a new house. I go to school at 7:30 and work afterwards, so sometimes I don’t come home until around 9:00 pm. Because of this, confining a cat to my room didn’t seem like the best idea. So, I slowly introduced the kitten to my oldest cat and they did fine. But the second Chance saw the kitten, he started hissing like crazy, even after he got her scent and all. He ran upstairs and started hissing at my oldest cat and at everything around him, including me. Its been a few weeks since that happened, and the two have been able to be around eachother upstairs, but if I even remotely try to bring him downstairs, he’ll start hissing and growling. I don’t know what to do. Do I have to wait until the kitten goes with my brother? Or will my cat just never go downstairs again?
