[Advise] My dog has tumours, What’s the best choice for him?

I really need an outside perspective to this as I’m really struggling with the decision I need to make.

My 9yr old Boxer has had a couple growths come up over the last 12 months, I took him to the vet when they first came up and she wasn’t too concerned but now she is. After examining him and attempting to ascertain what type of tumour they are she is very concerned that they have spread.

Currently he has one large lump at the base of his tail, the same on his shoulder and a growth in the corner of his eye. There is another that looks like it’s coming on the top of his head. He also has an enlarged prostate.

Other that the lumps he is healthy as he always has been.

So the options - 1. Remove all the lumps, desex him and get lab tests to determine what type of tumour they are. They would do an ultrasound at the same time to check if they have spread to his organs.

  1. Take him on a 6hr round trip to the specialists to get second opinion and ultrasound for diagnostics

  2. Leave him be. He is a old dog and it’s not bothering him.

Costs don’t matter to me but I worry about putting him through all this when he realistically only has 5 years left on this earth
