I adopted a cat more than 6 months ago and i named her Minty. When she first came to me, she was quite skinny and her previous owner was an older lady who had recently passed away near me and since I grew up with cats my whole life and currently living without one, I decided to adopt her. She's a beautiful calico japanese bobtail cat and around a year old.
When I first got her I noticed she was quite a picky eater. She only ate certain brands of cat food and wanted nothing to do with dry food, not even as a treat. ONLY WET FOOD. A month after that, she decided she doesn't like that brand anymore and I had to find a new brand. And as the weeks go by, she keeps changing her food preference and now, she doesn't want anything fish or seafood, no chicken flavoured, no lamb, no beef, nothing! She would only eat a little bit and leave the food there. She won't even touch it if she's hungry.
After that, i found out that she likes chicken bones, not chicken meat, but bones, so I did some research (read: half an hour on google) and people said that i shouldn't feed cooked chicken bones to cat, only raw ones. So I gave my Minty some raw chicken bone but that darn cat doesn't want that either. I even tried some homemade cat food recipes with fresh fishes and real meat but she wouldn't even look at it as well.
She's a smart cat and she always finds a way to dig the trash for chicken bones and eat them. I don't know what to do now. I need advise.
I've tried switching her food up so she doesn't get bored with her food, but that didn't work either. The only commercial cat foods I havent tried are the super expensive ones because I can't afford it.
I really love her and she's a great and loving cat but I don't want any harm to come to her with cooked chicken bones and I don't want her to starve either. Please help.
