Dos & Donts of cats while dogsitting?

I'm a cat "owner" dogsitting 2 smaller/hyper doges. What are some tips for things like for time, placement of food/poddy/kennel areas etc? Idiots guide?

I have had cats and dogs of a variety of ages and backgrounds (kittens to geriatric doges) throughout my life, but oddly enough never at once. I will be dogesitting 2 for a coworker. They are pretty well kennel trained (cramped apartment) but I can tell they have been hit as one is timid around male humans (me) or raised hands... So he can have accidents or excite easily.

I adopted a 6-8 mo old dumpster cat about 3 months ago to fill the void of losing a elderly beagle. She was somewhat feral but has settled in very well and picked up litter poos quickly etc.

Tips for NOT coming home to a house filled with fur and feces?

I should probably take a pet foster class of sorts if I plan on dogesitting more until I get my own, again.

*EDIT: NOT not not coming home to fur and feces.
