Geriatric dog loves cat food, but hates her own food. How bad is it for her?

I babysit a 13 year old golden retriever every so often, and she'll sometimes get into the cat food (it's IAMs, I know, I'm looking for alternatives). She also has lung cancer, is really really thin and we are quite sure she won't make it to 2020.

For reference, we need to move heaven and earth to get her to eat her own food. She's also gotten into the cat food before and there weren't any manifested symptoms.

What are the worst adverse effects can we expect? She doesn't have much longer and she seems to really enjoy it. Is it even okay to give her a handful as like a treat at least?
