I'm considering the pros and cons of getting one versus two dogs. We are talking about small dogs (e.g, Cavalier/poodle). One of the main benefits I see of having two dogs is that they can provide each other company while I'm away.
My situation: I live in Denver, Colorado, work from 9 to 5 but live close to work and can easily come back between 12 and 1. I live on the third floor in an apartment complex. I have lived with dogs before but never had one myself.
Can anyone shed light on what factors I should be taking into account when making this decision? Two dogs provide twice the love but is it also twice as emotionally draining? Twice the time commitment? Twice the cost?
