Hi I have an almost two year old male border collie who I have had since he was 8 weeks old. He is very obedient has been to a lot of training he used to walk so well on lead and have a brilliant recall but there was a time when I became pregnant and got very sick that I had to be put on strict bed rest for 3 months and I had to get my partner too walk him and our other dog he basically took them to the dog park every night that he could and ever since then whenever I take my dog on a walk and we see another dog he will instantly try to run over too them and play but then realise he can't and will start barking and pulling aggressively and if our other dog is near will attack him so we try to walk them separately all the time. I have tried having high value treats but he completely ignores them have tried him at a distance tried walking him really late at night etc., I have been looking at a behaviourist and I honestly can't afford one and the one we could afford was horrible and not at all force free trying to encourage us to use a choke chain and showing us to basically be yanking him around and yelling at him a lot. It's gotten to the point now where he is reactive to anyone walking near us and cars. We can get him to sit and watch us and take a treat if there is a car now though but it's getting to the point where I am too scared too walk him especially with two babies in a pram that he has knocked over more than once and my partner isn't home 4 nights a week so I am the one who has to walk him with the kids. Does anyone have any more advice of things I havent tried? I'm running out of ideas and rehoming him has been spoken about a couple of times now as we don't think we are helping him and he is just getting worse. Thank you for taking the time to read this..
