Hi, guys, first time posting here. So, I'm kinda desperate, 2 weeks ago I got the heartbreaking news that my childhood cat is diabetic. At first I had mixed feelings about, kinda relieved knowing it was treatable, but pretty depressed knowing this meant a lifetime (unpleasant for my cat) treatment.
My veterinarian was really helpful ecpnomically (charged very little for his time every time we brought him), but as much as I appreciate his attitude, he's kinda sloppy with details. He's been giving me shots of insulin and quickly explained to me how to inyect my cat and what food we had to buy, and that was it.
Now comes the difficult part. It was pure coincidence that this all happened while I'm visiting my mom's home, I'll be back in my home between the first week of february and my 60 years old mother will be left with a 11 years old diabetic cat. I could inyect him all this time only because my mom would hold him, not because he would get aggressive, but because he moved too much. Since then, I tried doing it alone, but he's too aware now, and moves a lot, it's just not possible for one person.
If someone who lives alone had to/is it going through the same thing, I'd really appreciate your advice.
