I just adopted a cat and she hates dogs. Like just the sight of one across the room and she starts growling and hissing and even launches across the room to attack it. The dog was small and didn’t even notice there was a cat until she tried attacking it.
I love dogs and have dogs over all the time (friends and family bring theirs over and I dog sit often). I did mention at the adoption center that I dog sit, my family dog comes over, and I will likely be getting a dog of my own in the future.
I know she still needs time to settle in and so the visiting dog on top of everything else probably wasn’t the smartest move. Im worried this particular cat isn’t a good fit for my lifestyle but I feel terrible at the thought of giving her back since I made a commitment. I really like her and she is a good fit when dogs aren’t around, but I am going to have them around so I don’t know what to do.
