I'll be moving from California to Florida this April and while that's stressful enough the airline I'm using (Southwest) won't accept ANYTHING other than cats and dogs, no exceptions. So now I'm looking into "pet relocation" services and since I've never done anything like this before I was wondering if any of you fellow animal lovers could share your expierences or even recommend a reliable service for my little guy.
We recently lost his big brother so for now he's alone. All we want is to have our little , distructive jerk with us at our new place. We'd hate to have to give him up. The tickets were bought by a family member who assumed a little rat wouldn't be that big of a deal for an airline so they aren't refundable, if we don't use 'em the money's lost. I've contacted a few relocation places and so far only one real response, the others either haven't responed yet or don't handle rats. The one estimate I do have is currently at a very reasonable $1,400. I'll be calling them tomorrow (Monday) to get into details to see if the price can be adjusted. So any suggestions or recommendations you guys have are SUPER welcome. =)
