So my cat had been dealing with CKD, but was stable with sub q fluids. He is only 7.
Today his breathing increased and he has fluid buildup on the heart which either means hear failure (he had a murmer) or a mass.
Either way, the doc says its not a good prognosis. They can remove the fluids and he could be better for a while, but removing the fluids each week costs 200 bucks.
I do not know what to do. Do i bring him home for a few more days to be happy or do i just not bring him back from the Vet. Should i let him see his sister one more time? I do not know what to do and it is breaking my heart.
I love him with all my heart, so does my wife. Bringing him home just to know its for a couple of days seems cruel and i dont know i can take it. Knowing we have so little time to be with him... how do you even go to work. I couldnt think of anything less than spending every single second of the next few days with him.
And then having to drive him back to the vet one last time to get put to sleep. I am crying just thinking about it.
Does anyone have any advice?
