Questions about my rescue cat

As for background info: I already had a cat (Named Kedi) and I was feeding numerous cats outside my garden. One day one of the outside cats broke his leg so I somehow caught him, too him into vet for treatment. After 1.5 months he came back with a limp leg and a very shy attitude. Vet said he wouldnt be able to live outside with a broken leg (which was fine because I had no intention of lettim him live outside anyway) so he officially became my second get.

Although they are both males my cat (Kedi) and the limpy one (Gordi used to know each other from outside and they had no big problems over bonding as house pals. They have been together for a year now but new cat has some issues that I dont know how to fix.

First of all although my old cat kedi actually accepted Gordi as his friend, gordi is always so cautious towards him. He never lets Kedi get near him. Kedi often tries to snuggle or clean Gordi whenever they are sitting next to each other but gordi always gets away as soon as he can. Now I am seeing Kedi forcefully jumping on Gordi and licking his head as much as he can. Most of the times Gordi allows it for 10-15 seconds and they gets away again.

Another problem is I am living alone with friends often staying and often dropping by and I just cant Gordi to socialise with them in any meaningful way. As soon as door rings he is running and hiding behind some cupboard that he discovered when he first came it and not leaving it until they are gone. For some reason he is a little bit more patient with my female guests but none of them were able to pet him or touch him at all. I suspect this is because somebody actually broke his leg when he was a stray.

I want my rescue cat to be more social and less alert within his home envoriment but I just dont know how to do it or fix it. Any tips towards this is more than welcome.
