Basically we have a 6-7 year old cat. We truly thought she wanted a friend. We did a bunch of research and found a kitten who was shy but friendly and we were told he loves other cats.
It's been two months and the resident cat just isn't having it. Growls at the kitten when he tries to play, doesn't hang out with us as much, and is eating less.
The thought of breaking out commitment to the kitten (and sending him back to a shelter) is breaking both of our hearts.
Anyone have advice or similar stories?
