Senior Dog with Shoulder Pain

This is my fathers dog, he refuses to take her to the vet unless it's for her to be put down. I'm trying to help her.

She seems to have hurt her shoulder during the night. She can still walk on it as I can get her to stand up to get her to go to the bathroom. When she does this she put pressure on it and only has a slight limp when walking but seems to need help when she needs to take a step up. I know it's her shoulder because she growls/whimpers when I applied pressure to the area and has some sort a scab below the area. Now she is just resting a lot and she doesn't seem to want to eat her food unless it's a treat.

My theory is that she must have tripped or something, she in blind in both eyes and slightly deaf. She bumps into things all the time, but she's been able to navigate on her own just fine. She seems to have arthritis and such as she is pretty old now. Although she has been aging and I expect her to go pretty soon, (She's like 12 or 13). I think this seems like a pretty minor injury that she could recover from. I got her to eat her food yesterday with the injury, she ate the whole bowl. I'm wondering if she just doesn't want to eat because of pain?

I read online that turmeric is a natural pain relief, and I gave her a very small amount, like 1/4 tbs when the dose I found was 1/2 tbs for a smaller dog (She's like medium), I don't think she got all of it down either because I didn't have a good way of giving it to her. I wouldn't normally do stuff without a vets permission, but I am pretty much unable to let a vet check her out because I don't have any money and it's my fathers dog. I just want to know what I can do to make her more comfortable if it can heal on it's own and like what's a good point to insist that it can't heal on it's own. If I don't help her out, it's likely that my dad won't do anything about it.
