Anyone raised an aggressive puppy despite doing everything 'right'?

We recently picked up an 8 week old puppy. We have a six year old Boxer who we raised from 8 weeks. He's a sweet, wonderful and mostly trained dog. Great with our kids and visitors, good boy at the dog park and an overall joy.

Now we have the puppy and I feel like we're doing an excellent job house breaking, training, supervising him with the kids, etc. To be honest though, I am paranoid about the puppy. He's a breed my husband really wanted but is known for being an "aggressive" breed. I think he'll be a beautiful dog and I want a loyal, energetic family boy who plays fetch with the kids and is loved by them and they love him.

I guess my question is, has anyone had an experience where "nature" won over "nurture" or can you all just please ease my fears and reassure me that if we are loving with our pup, patient, and consistent with training, he'll turn out non-aggressive regardless of breed.
