A former friend of mine has been jobless for awhile now and can hardly even feed herself. She has a few cats and a bunch of guinea pigs (3-4)but she doesnt feed them. I told her its selfish to keep animals she cant feed because she 'loves' them. She said she needs the animals to 'be there for her in her hard times'. She texted me frantically asking to pay for vet bills because one cat is deathly ill I guess. She had another cat that got on her nerves because it got fleas so she just left it outside 24/7 and it ran away.
Is there anybody I can call who will take me seriously and do something About it? I have witnessed this in person. Are these poor animals doomed? I live in the Chicago suburbs
