I just moved in with my roommate who owns a dog and i own a cat. Her dog is very loyal in the sense that he honestly goes crazy when shes here, being very energetic and whining if hes not in the same room as her, running around. However, he also gets very protective of her and growls and barks at my cat through a dog gate if he sees my cat while my roommates home. However, when shes gone, he becomes a lot calmer, almost a different dog and seems to tolerate the cat more. Seeing as its only been a day i havent let the two together without the dog gate yet but i was wondering what i should do. Would her dog overtime be okay with my cat and should i introduce them while shes gone so the dogs calmer? Would her dog still keep getting aggressive when my roommates home? Im a cat person so i honestly have no idea how to deal with a dog. Hes also very stubborn so i dont know how much training and conditioning would help. Also tbh i dont really wanna spend my time training her dog or any dog, hence why i got a cat lolol
